The flight from Invercargill to the Ryan’s Creek airfield on Stewart Island is a comfortable twenty minutes encompassing astonishing views of both Foveaux Strait and Stewart Island.
Journeying across Foveaux Strait, you will see Dog Island and its lighthouse outside the entrance to Bluff harbour, Ruapuke Island and the Titi Island (Mutton Bird Island) group. As you draw closer, Stewart Island, “The Emerald of the South” appears, with its golden beaches, sparkling turquoise water and verdant green native bush.
Passing over beautiful bays, you will touch down at the Ryan’s Creek airfield, where our courtesy coach will conduct you to the Stewart Island Flights Depot in Oban, the hub of Stewart Island. At the Depot, which is also the island’s post office, you can book many of the activities Stewart Island has to offer.
